European Data Protection Board
The European Data Protection Board is responsible for the uniform application of data protection legislation in the European Union.
The Board consists of the EU's national data protection authorities and representatives of the European Data Protection Supervisor.
The Board is responsible for the uniform application of the EU's General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Directive applying to police and criminal justice authorities in the European Union. In order to achieve its mission, the European Data Protection Board
- issues clarifying guidelines, recommendations and decisions on data protection legislation; and
- promotes cooperation between national data protection authorities.
