Disclosures of data
There are no regular disclosures of data.
Data is disclosed in accordance with the Act on the Openness of Government Activities. The data and documents are public unless specifically decreed confidential by law.
Data may be disclosed also to other supervisory authorities in the EU or EEA in circumstances where we must handle complaints and investigations in cooperation with other supervisory authorities in the EU/EEA.
As a general rule, any documentary materials of the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman are public. However, depending on the case, the materials may be partly or entirely confidential. The decision on confidentiality is made on a case-by-case basis.
According to the Act on the Openness of Government Activities, the authority is obliged to assist, if necessary, in specifying the document to which access is being requested. In the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman, there is a customer service area where you can view a register on a computer in order to identify the documents you wish to request. You need to make a reservation for the use of the customer service area, either by sending email to email@example.com or by calling 029 566 6700.
The disclosure of documents may be subject to a fee in accordance with the Decree by the Ministry of Justice (1035/2017) and the Decision by the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman (reg. no. 2082/09/01).
Direct marketing and market research
No data will be disclosed for direct marketing, survey or market research purposes, unless there are separate provisions regarding disclosure for such purposes.
